This is the third specialized branches under the initiative to expand deep specialized societies, allowing medical professionals to exchange and learn from each other, thus providing the best treatment outcomes for patients.

Sharing the purpose behind the decision to establish the Vietnamese Society of Colorectal Surgeons, Prof. Dr. Tran Binh Giang, President of the Vietnam Association for Surgery and Endolaparosurgery, mentioned that the field of colorectal surgery, especially colorectal cancer, is increasing in prevalence in Vietnam. As a result, better treatment experience is required.
This field also demands the application of new advancements such as laparoscopic surgery and robotic surgery, providing more opportunities for specialists to share knowledge and improve treatment outcomes.

During this event, Prof. Dr. Tran Binh Giang, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Bac, Director of the University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City and Vice President of the Vietnam Association for Surgery and Endolaparosurgery, officially handed over the decision to establish the Vietnamese Society of Colorectal Surgeons and introduced the Executive Committee, which includes:

·         President of the Association: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Thinh - Head of the Health Check-up Department, University Medical Center, Ho Chi Minh City

·         Vice Presidents of the Association:

o    Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Hoang Ha - Head of the GastroIntestinal Surgery Deparment, Viet Duc University Hospital

o    Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Huu Thien - Deputy Head of the Pediatric & Acute Abdominal Surgery, Hue Central Hospital

o    Dr. Tran Phung Dung Tien - Head of the GastroIntestinal Surgery Deparment, Cho Ray Hospital
